Tottenham fans SLAM Daniel Levy after Harry Kane's Bayern transfer

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust have slammed chairman Daniel Levy for his part in Harry Kane's departure.

Kane completed a £100 million move to Bayern Munich today and featured in their 3-0 German Super Cup defeat to RB Leipzig this evening.

Despite being a club legend, Kane wanted to leave Spurs in order to fight for trophies - something he has rarely done.

And Tottenham fans are blaming Levy for not putting the team around him to earn silverware in north London.

Had Kane won the Premier League, or even a domestic cup competition, he may have stayed at Spurs for the entirety of his career.

Instead, he will spend the next four seasons in the Bundesliga, while Tottenham undergo a rebuild.

"This is a sad day for all Spurs supporters. We are devastated to see Harry Kane go: our leading goal scorer and one of our greatest ever players. He embodied everything Tottenham Hotspur. He gave his all for the Club, giving us so many memories to treasure. We thank Harry for all he has done for Spurs.

"It should never have come to this. This is a watershed moment, and a clear and painful indictment of the on-field development of the Club over the last four years. We have lost a generational talent who, by his own words, only wanted to see the Club progress. But the lack of a coherent and consistent football strategy from the Board has seen significant on field regression since 2019, leading to One of Our Own feeling he had no viable option but to leave.

"The Board are merely temporary custodians of this Club. If this Board doesn’t share the ambition of one of our greatest players, then how can fans feel reassured in the direction of this football club?

"Fans are angry and hurt; our loyalty is being tested to breaking point. We must question the Club’s strategy and ambition. And we are owed an explanation on exactly who sanctioned the sale and why it happened a matter of hours before the season kicks off.

"The Club Board must make a public statement, respond to questions on their stewardship and show that it knows what putting football first means."
