The 24-year-old has been with the club since January 2021, when he initially joined on loan from Real Madrid, and completed a €35 million the following summer, signing a four-year deal in the process.
Presently under contract until 2025, Odegaard is now set to extend that, Romano says.

’New contract a matter of time’
“Arsenal have received positive feedback from Martin Odegaard & his camp over contract extension,” he reported on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Negotiations advancing as reported last week — now considered matter of time to reach agreement on new deal.
“Odegaard always wanted to stay.”
Odegaard has played 110 matches for Arsenal, scoring 26 goals and grabbing 15 assists. On top of this, he has graduated to become the Gunners’ captain, leading them as they made a strong fight for the Premier League title last term.
Mikel Arteta’s side have started this campaign similarly by winning three of their first four Premier League matches, as well as the Community Shield on penalties against Manchester City. Odegaard already has goals against Crystal Palace and Manchester United to his name.
Arsenal travel to face Everton on Sunday before an encounter with PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday. Odegaard will make just his third appearance in the group stages of the competition, having featured twice for Real Madrid in the 2020/21 competition.
He has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €56m, a figure that will rise when he signs his new contract at the Emirates Stadium.
