EXCLUSIVE: Jorginho set for Arsenal stay until 2025
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not planning to see Jorginho depart the club in the immediate future, with the Spaniard planning to retain the midfielder until 2025, FootballTransfers can exclusively reveal.
There were rumours linking the Italy international away from the Emirates Stadium in the summer and there ongoing whispers that Arteta is prepared to sell the 31-year-old in either January or at the end of the season.
However, sources have indicated that Arsenal are planning to take up the one-year option in Jorginho’s contract.

Jorginho still an asset to Arsenal
The manager believes that the veteran, who arrived at the club in January 2023 from Chelsea for €11 million, will be integral to the next stage of Arsenal’s development, with his experience especially vital in the Champions League.
Although he has played only 17 minutes for the Gunners this season via three substitute appearances, his value also comes away from the field, while he will surely be used more regularly in the weeks ahead as the fixtures pile up thanks to the return of top-level European football to the Emirates Stadium.
Jorginho, after all, has built up a wealth of experience throughout his career at the likes of Hellas Verona, Napoli, Chelsea and, of course, with Italy, who he helped to win Euro 2020.

It is unclear if Jorginho’s Arsenal journey might continue beyond the scope of his present contract, but FootballTransfers has been told that the Brazil-born player would be happy to sign a one-year rolling deal.
This differentiates him from fellow defensive midfielder Thomas Partey, who is likelier to depart the club as a result. FootballTransfers previously exclusively revealed that Juventus are following the Ghana international star and that Arsenal are willing to listen to January bids for the player, whose deal is also up in 2025.
