EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal to reward Arteta with new £10m-per-year contract
Arsenal’s contract talks with manager Mikel Arteta are progressing positively, FootballTransfers can exclusively reveal.
The Gunners are ready to offer Arteta deal worth up to £10 million per year, with a contract of three seasons in the works, meaning the Spaniard will likely be contracted to the Emirates side until 2027.
The 41-year-old signed a previous extension with Arsenal in May 2022 but the performance of the club since has merited a revised deal.
EXCLUSIVE: Jorginho set for Arsenal stay until 2025
The former Manchester City assistant took charge of Arsenal in 2019 and has steadily rebuilt the club to become Premier League title challengers, notably finishing second in 2022/23 to lead the north London outfit back into the Champions League for the first time in seven years.
Arteta’s efforts are set to be recognised by the club with a deal that will be based around the performance of the first team.
The process of this deal, though, is expected to be a lengthy one and it may not be formally announced until the end of the season.

Arsenal’s present priority is securing new contracts for Martin Odegaard and Ben White. A deal for the Norway international is expected to be announced imminently.
Meanwhile, there is no need for the Gunners to renew a deal for sporting director Edu. Having received a promotion, the Brazilian is now considered a permanent member of the Arsenal staff.
Arteta continues to transform Arsenal
The combination of Arteta and Edu has worked spectacularly thus far for Arsenal.
The first phase of their rebuild was completed last summer as the Gunners finished second in the Premier League, but this transformation has not stopped at that.
Arteta has shown the willingness to make big decisions as the Emirates side attempt to make another step forward.
Previously key players such as Kieran Tierney have been offloaded while goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale could well be the next victim, with FootballTransfers’ understanding that David Raya is in line to be made No.1 after arriving on loan from Brentford.
