Ousmane Dembele could join Arsenal on loan in January after an underwhelming start to his PSG career, according to the Daily Mirror.

Dembele only signed for PSG several weeks ago after the Ligue 1 giants executed his release clause.

PSG paid the €50 million fee in his Barcelona contract to take him to the Parc des Princes.

Dembele has struggled in his opening games, scoring no goals and making just one assist in his first six matches.

This has led to the Mirror reporting that PSG could let him leave in January on loan.

Premier League giants Arsenal are leading the chase, while Tottenham and West Ham are also interested.

Dembele can play on the right or left wing, presenting an enticing option for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

PSG manager Luis Enrique has publicly stated that he supports Dembele but the Mirror insists that a January move is possible.

Dembele joined PSG six years after he had signed for Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for €105m – a fee which only recently dropped out of the top 10 most expensive transfers of all time.

Dembele had a difficult time at Barcelona with injuries, although he had re-established himself as a key member of the Barcelona team last season, finishing as the La Liga champions’ joint leading provider with seven assists – as well as chipping in with five goals of his own.

This didn’t stop Dembele being blasted by Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov when he decided to leave for PSG.

What did Stoichkov say about Dembele?

“Dembele, in four-and-a-half-years, you have played 20 full games,” Stoichkov said.

“In my era, you would have been the one to clean my boots…Many foreigners who have been at the club understood what Barca means. You never did.”
