Chelsea boss Pochettino makes £50m star transfer admission
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to not knowing what the future will hold for Conor Gallagher.
The Blues academy graduate has become an integral part of the Argentine's midfield, but questions about his future continue to persist. As FootballTransfers has exclusively revealed, Brighton are interested in signing the 23-year-old, while Tottenham Hotspur are also in the mix.
In fact, there was a time earlier in the window when it looked almost certain that the former Crystal Palace loanee would depart, with Liverpool understood to have been interested back then. But the arrival of Pochettino has reinvigorated Gallagher's Stamford Bridge career.

The midfielder has started every Premier League fixture thus far and even captained the side against Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup. Yet, there are concerns that Gallagher could still leave given that Chelsea have invested significantly in their midfield this summer, which may yet limit his minutes, and Pochettino's comments won't have eased these concerns.

What did Pochettino say?
Speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea's clash against Nottingham Forest, Pochettino said of Gallagher: "The players in the squad are part of the plan but then it is down to the club. Conor is a consistent player who can perform in different positions. We are so happy with him."
"Conor is showing great commitment to the club", he continued. "He was captain two days ago against Wimbledon." However, the Blues boss admitted that he does not know what the future will hold for his midfielder. "He is an important player for us but what is going to happen in the future, I don't know."
DEADLINE DAY: Every confirmed transfer around Europe
Chelsea are understood to have slapped a £50m (€58m) price tag on Gallagher which may yet prove an insurmountable hurdle for a player with an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €33m, but anything can happen on deadline day.
