Chelsea URGED to embrace Man Utd star by club legend
Chelsea legend John Terry has implored his former side to embrace Mason Mount despite the midfielder’s departure from the side to Manchester United this summer.
The centre-back said that there is an 'untold side' to Mason Mount's exit from Stamford Bridge. Mount joined up with the Red Devils for a fee rising to £60million this summer, after having failed contract talks with the Blues this year and last.
Mount was criticised for his move away from his boyhood club by some sections of supporters, but Terry has asked that they go easy on their former star. The Daily Mail reports that the England international was asking for a salary comparable to Raheem Sterling, who is Chelsea’s biggest earner.

Mount played some of his best football under Frank Lampard but struggled with Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter at the helm.
And now Terry has asked the Chelsea fans to give Mount a rest, suggesting that the whole truth is not out in public.

“Mase is proper Chels through and through. There's always two sides to a story and I know the other side to it,' Terry told Knockout Events on Friday.
“I'm not going to air that tonight but there's another side to the story. Let's not be too harsh on him when he comes back.”
Mount's record
Mount scored 33 goals and 37 assists in 195 appearances at Chelsea, even helping them lift the Champions League in 2021. The 24-year-old has had a tepid start to life at Old Trafford so far, but there is hope that he can build his confidence back up.
He may face a possible return to Stamford Bridge towards the end of the season, on April 3, when Man Utd face off against the west London side in the Premier League.
