Thorgan Hazard is set to sign for Anderlecht, according to Belgian media.

The Borussia Dortmund attacker and former Chelsea player - who never quite managed to reach the same heights as brother Eden - appears to be finally on his way out after seeing his career stagnate.

Hazard lost his place in Dortmund's side under Eden Terzic and it looked as though he would already depart in January. A permanent move never materialised, however, and he instead headed out on loan to PSV in the Eredivisie, but he scored just two goals across 13 appearances.

It was a similar story this time around with no concrete advances being made for the Belgium international. Bundesliga Deadline Day came and went and Hazard, surprisingly, remained a Dortmund player.

But not all transfer windows around the world are already closed. The Belgian one, for example, shuts today (September 6) and Hazard appears to be on his way back home.

Hazard set for Anderlecht

That's at least according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that Dortmund and Anderlecht have reached an agreement in principle for a €4 million transfer of the 30-year-old. For comparison's sake, Dortmund paid €25.5m to sign Hazard from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2019.

Thorgan, of course, isn't the only Hazard who has been stuck in transfer limbo. Brother Eden has been without a club since leaving Real Madrid on July 1 after his eye-watering €115m transfer failed to work out.

Having struggled with fitness issues for years, Eden is said to be pondering retirement. The 32-year-old has reportedly received several offers in recent times, but he turned all of them down to spend time with his family.

Should Thorgan complete his move to Anderlecht before today's deadline, he will face the third Hazard brother, Kylian, this season. The 28-year-old currently plays Molenbeek in the Belgian top flight.
