Klopp's Germany silence broken amid Dortmund pressure
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has no interest in taking up the Germany job presently, his agent has confirmed in a statement that will have many Reds fans breathing a sigh of relief.
Hansi Flick’s sacking as Germany head coach following a 4-1 loss to Japan last week had seen Klopp installed as one of the favourites to land the post.
But even if the German FA (DFB) wanted the Liverpool boss to take charge of the national team, Klopp has rejected the idea of leaving Anfield at this time.

“Jurgen has a long-term contract with Liverpool and is not available for the national coaching position,” Klopp's agent, Marc Kosicke, told TV show Sportschau.
This stance comes as little surprise given that there were no indications that Klopp, who has a contract that runs until 2026, would leave his post at this point.
Nevertheless, Klopp’s links to Borussia Dortmund might have threatened this position as his former boss tried to persuade him to claim the post.

Dortmund putting pressure on Klopp
Still according to Sportschau, BVB supremo Hans-Joachim Watzke, who is on the DFB’s executive board as the Bundesliga’s representative, had tried to talk the Reds boss into taking the job.
Klopp has been in charge at Liverpool since 2015 and has been their outstanding manager of the modern era, leading the Reds to their first title of the Premier League era while also guiding the Anfield club to the 2018/19 Champions League crown.
Hannes Wolf, meanwhile, took charge of Germany for their Tuesday friendly in Dortmund against France – an encounter that they claimed a 2-1 victory in thanks to goals from Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane.
Despite Wolf’s success, former Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann is the early favourite to take the Germany post on a full-time basis before the country hosts Euro 2024 next summer.
