Jota tells Liverpool which Portugal teammate they should sign
Diogo Jota has some illustrious international teammates with Portugal, but there is one he would pick over even Cristiano Ronaldo for Liverpool to sign if they could.
Jota has played across Liverpool's frontline this season, and got off the mark for the campaign when he scored in the 3-1 win over Bournemouth in mid-August.
A popular figure on an off the field at Anfield, the Portuguese has hit 42 goals and 17 assists in his 118 games since signing from Wolves in a €44.7 million deal in September 2020, and was a Champions League runner-up in 2022.

Bernardo 'the most intelligent' footballer
"Bernardo," he said when asked by Mark Goldbridge's 'That's Football' on YouTube. "Bernardo Silva, for me. For sure, he is probably one of the most intelligent football guys I have known.
"The way he can hide the ball as well from the opponent is special. I think I would go for him."

Bernardo's future at City has seemed uncertain over the last year with the player admitting to Pep Guardiola that it was a dream to move to Barcelona and the manager publicly expressing his understanding for that position.
However, the versatile midfielder is valued at €79.8m by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, and with a contract that runs until 2026, City weren't about to give him up on the cheap to the cash-strapped club this summer.
Wolves was something of a Portuguese enclave for Jota, meanwhile - nine players from the nation are currently on the books - while the only other player Portuguese player at Liverpool is Fabio Carvalho, who is currently on loan at RB Leipzig.
