'You're paid to make saves!' - Ferdinand SLAMS Onana after Bayern HOWLER

Rio Ferdinand has given his thoughts on Andre Onana's blunder against Bayern Munich.
The Manchester United goalkeeper made headlines for all the wrong reasons on the Red Devils' return to the Champions League when he fluffed his lines on a relatively tame effort from former Man City man Leroy Sane.
This was the last thing Man Utd needed as it only compounded the misery they have experienced in recent weeks. Onana was brought in to be a rock at the back and while he wasn't at his best in United's 3-1 loss against Brighton - a result that left some fans, oddly, pining for David de Gea to return - he had been solid until the Bayern game.

But questions are now being asked of Onana and his shot-stopping abilities and club legend Rio Ferdinand did not hold back after the goal.
What did Ferdinand about Onana?
"This is a nightmare scenario for Onana," Ferdinand told TNT Sports. "He’s confident as you like with his feet, but as a goalkeeper, you’re paid to come in to make saves."
"He [Sane] doesn’t hit it with any real purpose, he didn’t hit it wide of him, it isn’t in the corners. Onana’s reaction is that he should save this, it should be food and drink to him."
"He should be picking this up and looking for his next pass", Ferdinand continued. "It’s a very, very bad mistake and one he needs to recover from."

After the game, Ferdinand added: "All the blame lies at his door. It’s not in the corner, it’s not hit with ferocious power.
"That just epitomises Manchester United this season. I think it’s 14 goals in five games they’ve conceded now and most of those goals, they could make it more difficult for their opponents.
"He knows it’s a big mistake, he knows the pressure’s on and he knows all eyes are on him, and he hasn’t dealt with that big moment there."
Onana was signed to replace De Gea who was a great shot-stopper but also someone who was regularly questioned for his inability to play with the ball at his feet.
The Cameroon international was supposed to be the whole package, bringing both excellent technical abilities as well as solid shot-stopping to the table, but perhaps the pressure is now getting to him - and his United teammates.
