The Italian transfer guru has reported that Fiorentina are on the verge of agreeing on a deal with Sassuolo for Maxime Lopez as their new midfielder, meaning that the Serie A club are close to finding their replacement for the Moroccan.

He also states that the deal between Sassuolo and Fiorentina for Amrabat is very advanced.

Talks are ongoing between Fiorentina and Man Utd over a deal for Amrabat, who is Erik ten Hag’s major target for midfield. The Premier League club initially had a loan offer knocked back for the player, wanting an option or obligation to buy clause put on the deal.

Man Utd continue talks with Amrabat over a deal and there is hope from all parties that a deal will be concluded.

Indeed, it was reported on Wednesday that the Premier League side had offered a €2 million offer for the duration of the season and even gave Fiorentina an exit clause in January if the deal didn’t work out.

But Romano rejected this notion. Taking to his YouTube channel, he said: “I’m told that Man Utd didn’t send any loan deal bid to Fiorentina. There have been so many rumours about that.

“The only thing that happened today [Wednesday] is that Man Utd, through intermediaries, had conversations with Fiorentina. That’s what happened. They didn’t send a loan bid or anything like that.

“In this conversation, Fiorentina told Manchester United that they could be open to a loan move but only with a guaranteed obligation to buy clause. So Fiorentina want a permanent transfer for Amrabat.
