Manchester United are in a “race” to find an exit door for midfielder Donny van de Beek and are ready to consider “any offers” for the former Ajax star.

Van de Beek has been a hot topic throughout the summer transfer window and has attracted interest from a myriad of different clubs.

The 26-year-old, though, has apparently been determined to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his place in Erik ten Hag’s plans, notably turning down the opportunity to sign for Ligue 1 side Lorient late in the summer transfer window.

But Ten Hag has since made it clear just how far down the pecking order the midfielder is, leaving him out of the Champions League squad that was given to UEFA earlier this week and thereby freezing him out of Man Utd’s biggest games for the rest of the year.

ESPN reports that Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both interested in the player, who was nominated for the Ballon d’Or in 2019, with Man Utd “willing to consider any offers”.

Van de Beek hints at transfer

Van de Beek commented after a preseason match against Lyon in Edinburgh: “It’s also a possibility that I move, so everything is open. It’s hard to say now where my future is.”

While Man Utd wanted to offload the player for a transfer fee, it now appears that a loan deal would be accepted. Previously, United wanted to sell in order to fund immediate transfers of their own, but with the window closed, that is clearly off the cards.

The transfer window in the Saudi Pro League shuts on Thursday evening but players could still leave for the Turkish Super Lig until 15 September.

Van de Beek has previously had a loan spell away from Man Utd with Everton, while his campaign last season was damaged by a knee injury in January that restricted him to just a couple of starts under his former Ajax boss Ten Hag.
