EXCLUSIVE: Frustrations over Harry Arter as player refuses to leave Forest
Harry Arter is expected to see out his contract at Nottingham Forest after failing to make a first-team appearance for three years, FootballTransfers understands.
The midfield remains on the books at Forest despite not playing for the first team for a number of campaigns There is anger, sources tell us, at the lack of desire from Arter and his agent, Paul Martin, to find a solution.
We have been informed that Arter also came back 2kg overweight during pre-season and has made no conceivable effort to give Steve Cooper a reason to get him back into the first team or even just find a new club.

Arter signed with Forest in 2020 but quickly fell out of favour with then-manager Chris Hughton and found himself frozen out.
His contract was up in 2023 but Forest's promotion to the Premier League in the 2021–22 season triggered a clause which extended his contract by an additional year.
Arter deal ends in 2024
There is concern that Arter may just wait until 2024 and receive his 40,000 per week without game-time.
Arter was instructed to seek a new club during the past summer and in the subsequent January transfer window but still, he remains on Forest's books.
His difficult spell in the Midlands commenced when he was loaned to Charlton in League One in August 2021. But after just four appearances, he returned to Forest within five months.
In March of the following year, he embarked on another loan adventure, this time at Notts County, a National League side. During this two-month stint, he managed nine appearances.
He was also not given a squad number this season ahead of the new campaign.
