Why are Liverpool fans mocking Michail Antonio after beating West Ham?
Michail Antonio has been given the full brunt of mockery after West Ham’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
The Hammers striker was in for some stick, with Reds fans on social media laying into the player.
Liverpool continued their great start to the season with an assured win over the London outfit, with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota getting on the scoresheet for the home side - while Jarrod Bowen got a single goal for West Ham.
But some of the attention was on Antonio, and in particular, what the forward had been saying ahead of the Premier League encounter.

Antonio had enraged some fans with his words before the game. He said: “You know what, I think we are going to finish higher than Liverpool this season,” he said of West Ham’s chances. “I'm putting it out there. We've got them this weekend and it's a six-pointer. We've got them!"
This annoyed plenty of Liverpool fans online, and they were quick to remind Antonio that, despite their disappointing campaign the season prior, they still remain a formidable outfit.
What as been said on Twitter?
Michail Antonio talked too much about us only to be pocketed by Van Dijk all game just to come off on the 74th minute. Karma is beautiful.

Can someone make sure Joe Gomez doesn’t go home with Michail Antonio in his back pocket.
Fantastic performance from Joe Gomez.

It’s funny that Michail Antonio has ran his mouth all week and he’s absolutely stunk the gaff out today 😂

It’s actually so funny knowing Michail Antonio chatted the most during the week just to get bullied off the park by this pic.twitter.com/8Yzn0xSPSs
