The 20-year-old joined Bayern from Chelsea’s academy in 2019 and has quickly developed into one of Europe’s most talented young players.

He has amassed over 35 appearances for the Bavarian outfit in each of the past three seasons and Musiala netted a last-minute winner against Koln on the last day of the 2022-23 Bundesliga season to earn Bayern their 10th title in a row.

His form since breaking into the Bayern senior team has been immense and has resulted in interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

90min have confirmed that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been monitoring Musiala for several years as they ponder making a move.

Fabrizio Romano has also revealed that a host of European football giants are keeping tabs on the attacking midfielder.

The Germany international’s current contract at the Allianz Arena isn’t due to expire until 2026 - after he signed an extension two years ago - but Bayern are extremely wary of transfer interest and are hoping to tie him down to a new deal.

According to 90min, Bayern are “very confident” that Musiala will extend his contract at the club, despite the aforementioned transfer interest from the world’s biggest clubs.

He has won the Bundesliga title every season since joining Bayern from Chelsea, but has not yet added Champions League silverware to his trophy cabinet.

Chelsea’s Musiala blow

Chelsea had no say in Musiala’s move to Bayern, as stressed by Jody Morris, but his departure is still a sore one.

The founder of the Golden Boy award, Massimo Franchi, recently told TZ: “I love him [Musiala]! I love his creative playing style. I really love this young man. The fact that FC Bayern grabbed him from Chelsea almost for free was incredibly clever.

“An incredible loss for the Londoners. It would be like the Louvre losing the Mona Lisa!”
