EXCLUSIVE: Sancho hoping Ten Hag is sacked to save Man Utd career
Jadon Sancho doesn't want to leave Manchester United, FootballTransfers has been told.
The England winger - who has been involved in a public spat with head coach Erik ten Hag - hopes he can outlast the Dutchman at Old Trafford, sources have informed us.
Sancho remains in first-team exile after effectively calling Ten Hag a liar on social media in a now-deleted post. As such, he is happy to go out on loan in the upcoming January transfer window, but he does not wish to depart Man Utd permanently.
EXCLUSIVE: West Ham eye former Man Utd keeper David de Gea
The former Borussia Dortmund star believes a winter move will keep him in the thoughts of England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of the European Championship in 2024. From then on, the ideal scenario for Sancho would be for Ten Hag to leave and for him to come back into the senior side next season under a new coach.
We understand that despite the falling out, personnel at Man Utd still rate Sancho very highly. The 23-year-old’s contract runs out in 2026 and it’s believed that his substantial wage - around £300,000 per week including bonuses - means that Man Utd will struggle to get him off their books.
Why has Sancho been exiled?
Ten Hag criticised Sancho following his side’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal prior to the first international break of the season, saying that he had not been selected because of his poor performances in training.
This prompted an angry retort from Sancho on his social media channels. In an incendiary post, which remained live for several weeks before being deleted, the 23-year-old refuted the claim from his coach and stated that he had been made a 'scapegoat.'

Sancho has recently been linked with Juventus, while ex-club Dortmund remain in regular contact with their former wonderkid. It has been widely reported that an apology to Ten Hag, the Dutchman's staff and even his teammates is key to him returning to Man Utd’s first team, though he has thus far refused to do so.
