Liverpool ready to rival Arsenal and Chelsea in Osimhen race

Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Victor Osimhen in action, according to a sensational report.
The Napoli striker is one of Europe's most sought-after stars, particularly after the recent spat with his club. Osimhen was a coveted man already in the summer off the back of firing Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years with 26 goals in 32 games.
Napoli, however, held firm and rebuffed any and all interest, including a lucrative Saudi offer, but this term, the side are a shadow of the team that took Italy by storm under Luciano Spalletti. New coach Rudi Garcia has struggled to get his team to recapture that championship-winning form and his substitutions in particular have, on several occasions, left his stars enraged.

Victor Osimhen was among the players to snap at his coach over being replaced prematurely, but that was nothing compared to what would follow. After missing a costly penalty against Bologna, Napoli mocked their star striker on TikTok, which prompted his agent to threaten legal action.
Napoli are keen to extend Osimhen's contract, but that could prove tough after the recent escapade and big clubs are circling once again.
Liverpool join race
In addition to Arsenal and Chelsea, Liverpool are now said to have entered the race for the Nigerian superstar's signature. According to a report, Jurgen Klopp sent one of his scouts to watch Osimhen in action on international duty.
However, he wouldn't have liked what he saw as the 24-year-old was forced off with a hamstring injury after 59 minutes against Saudi Arabia, which caused him to miss Nigeria's next fixture with Mozambique.

Osimhen has netted six times in eight Serie A games for Napoli this season. He featured against the Reds in the Champions League last term as Napoli defeated Liverpool 4-1 in the Champions League, but he did not get on the scoresheet, missing a penalty in the 18th minute.
