Man Utd wonderkid set for January exit

Erik ten Hag has given the green light for Amad Diallo to depart Manchester United on loan, according to a report.
The youngster was set for a big season. After impressing at Sunderland in the Championship last term, the Ivorian was to be assessed by Ten Hag in pre-season and the Dutchman was then to decide whether to give him another development loan or whether to keep him around the first team.
An injury, however, completely derailed any plans Man Utd may have had for Diallo. The 21-year-old is nearing a return to the pitch, but he will remain some way short of the Red Devils' level given the length of his spell on the sidelines. Indeed, he may not break into the first team again at all this season.

That's because he could be set for another loan in a bid to get him back to full fitness and give him game time.
Diallo to return?
According to the inews, Sunderland are still interested in re-signing Diallo. TEAMtalk, meanwhile, claims that Ten Hag has given his blessing for him to depart on loan despite Man Utd's dearth of options out wide, particularly on the right.
The Black Cats were among the youngster's many suitors in the summer after he finished the previous season with an impressive 14 goals and three assists across the regular Championship season and playoffs. West Ham, Everton and Burnley were some of the top-flight sides that were credited with an interest.

Diallo could head back to Wearside, back to a familiar environment, in hopes that he can recapture the stunning form he showed last term in the second half of this season. After all, Man Utd must eventually expect him to be ready for the first team after spending an eyebrow-raising €21.3 million on the former Atalanta wonderkid in 2021.
