The midfielder, who helped Fluminense win their first-ever Copa Libertadores this year, is set to move in the winter window, with Manchester United and Fulham very keen, as FootballTransfers exclusively revealed.

Meanwhile, via Anfield Watch, it was reported that the youngster had a proposal knocked back from Liverpool, who then went on to sign Wataru Endo.

The 22-year-old is certain to leave Brazil but has he given any indication as to which club he prefers?

What has Andre said about his future?

Speaking to Ben Jacobs, Andre said: "I watch the Premier League and it's a big dream to play there. I'm focused on finishing the season with Fluminense and realising our own dream of winning the Club World Cup. But my dream is clear, to be a Premier League player."

Speaking to The Guardian in November 2023, Andre said: “I follow the Premier League a lot,” he says when asked about his dream for the future. “It’s a very competitive league that demands a lot from players. But today my dream is to live day by day here in Fluminense. I don’t know what will happen in the future; I have a long contract at Fluminense and I really like being here.

“It’s been 10 years already so it’s where I feel at home. I’m still young, only 22 years old, so there’s no need for me to think too far ahead. I just need to keep doing my best, try to win this trophy and then see what happens at the end of the season.”

In the same month, he commented on the links to Man Utd, telling ESPN:

“I didn't know about [Man Utd’s interest]. And I also don't think anything came of it. We're in November, there's the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, there's the World Cup, but I'm very happy.

"Casemiro is a guy who has a huge career, I try to talk to him a lot when I'm with the national team. He's a person who gives me a lot of advice, he's a great leader and all I can do is continue playing well and I'm happy with all these surveys and comments."

"At this juncture, parting ways is quite challenging because I have a contract with Fluminense, and we also have crucial matches ahead. Nonetheless, I'm immensely content and grateful for this title and the unwavering support from the fans.

"At the conclusion of the season, we'll assess what the future holds. Every young player aspires to play in Europe someday. This isn't just my dream, but it's shared by the majority.

"With my current contract at Fluminense, proposals are likely to come in, and then it's time to engage in discussions with the club and determine what's best for all parties involved."

Speaking to Selecao SporTV while on international duty, he said: “I was always very calm. All the shoes are always left for my business. At first, for me and then the proposals, I made it clear to them that I focus and train, to continue help Fluminense.

"Thanks to God we won Libertadores. Now we have to play the last games in Brazil, before the World Cup, because we know that it is a very difficult championship. I will take advantage of every moment, every train and see what happens in the next year. I have a contract with Fluminense until 2025."

Meanwhile, head coach Samuel Xavier all but confirmed that Andre would leave, following Fluminense's 1-0 victory over Sao Paulo.

“It’s imminent,” he said of a transfer for his young talent, although he was tight-lipped as to where the destination of the player might be. “I really enjoyed the way that Martinelli and Alexsander played,” he said. “Andre’s departure is imminent and they are two players training at Fluminense who have already experienced very good times. They are players I count on a lot for next year."

Speaking on November 28, Fabrizio Romano said via Kick.com:“There is an obsession with this Andre story. Liverpool are still very well informed on the situation of Andre but Liverpool are currently not in negotiations with Fluminense.

At the moment there is not a concrete discussion. That’s the reality. They (Liverpool) wanted him in the summer but they are not negotiating now.

Fulham want Andre. Liverpool are just in contact with people close to Andre but they are not actively negotiating with Fluminense. I can’t predict the future. Interest? Yes. Negotiation. No”

Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Lucas Levia has urged Klopp to sign the midfielder. Speaking in December, he said on Aldo Meets Podcast: “He’s a very good player. I would say he’s the new modern number six you know. He’s not very big but he’s very strong.

“He just won the Copa Libertadores for Fluminense, a fantastic talent, he could be a good addition of course for Liverpool because it’s a position that’s really important to the team.

“You never know how these boys will do. I’m always very careful because I know how difficult it is to come from Brazil, he’s a fantastic player, but it depends now if the club and manager feel that his way of playing would fit the way Liverpool plays.”
