Chelsea face PSG competition for starlet compared to Saliba and Fofana

Ligue 1 wonderkid Leny Yoro is attracting interest from PSG, according to French media.
The youngster is enjoying a remarkable time at Lille. Having made his debut at 16, the now-17-year-old has become a regular at the heart of defence for his side despite his tender years.
His impressive performances have attracted the interest of Europe's elite, with prolific wonderkid scouts Chelsea recently credited with an interest in the youngster. Yoro's deal expires in 2025, so Lille could look to cash in on him next year, though they would naturally prefer to tie him down to a new deal.

If Chelsea were to make in move in January, it would be structured similarly to Christopher Nkunku's transfer. An agreement to sign the Frenchman was already reached last summer but he remained with Leipzig for the 2022/23 season. His compatriot
Yoro would also see out the campaign at his current side if a deal were to be struck. However, the Blues are not the only side keen on the youngster.
PSG enter the fray
Already tentatively linked with Yoro by the report that revealed Chelsea's interest, PSG have now fully entered the race for the youngster as they plot a double swoop for him and Lille's goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, according to Footmercato.
It's no surprise that the club's defensive assets are catching the eye. The Ligue 1 side are currently fifth in the table, boasting the third-best defensive record with 10 goals conceded, just one more than PSG.

The above-mentioned report asserts that signing Yoro and Chevalier would be a further expression of PSG's new transfer policy that aims to "Frenchify" the capital club by snapping up some of the best domestic talent.
"[Yoro] never ceases to impress," writes the French outlet, "to such an extent that he is of the same calibre as [Chelsea's] Wesley Fofana or [Arsenal's] William Saliba according to Rémy Cabella, who plays alongside him at LOSC and who knows the two French internationals well from the time he played at [Saint-Etienne]."
