Football Manager 2024 release clauses: The best players to target
Football Manager 2024 is here, with an all-new rating database for fans of the popular game to get their hands on.
As ever, Football Manager is the go-to place for football fans to build a club in their image, signing young talents and watching them develop into world-beaters.
Starting with clubs such as Real Madrid or Manchester City will give you a huge budget in FM24, although most fans of the game prefer starting with a smaller club and helping them rise up the divisions to glory.
While signing the best players in the world is possible with the biggest clubs, if you choose to manage a smaller team, then you’ll have to be far smarter with your transfer budget.
No matter what team you choose to manage, however, signing the right players for the right price is crucial. As a result, release clauses can be an excellent way to ensure you sign the players you want.
Below, FootballTransfers lists the best players currently available to sign with a release clause on Football Manager 2024.
What is a release clause?
A release clause is a set price for a player built into their contract. If a team offers that specific amount for a player, then the parent club cannot block any transfer.

RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi are both available for £51m on Football Manager 2024, which represents great value for two elite European talents. However, that price may be slightly unattainable depending on which club you choose to manage.
Zubimendi’s club team-mate Robin Le Normand is a great defensive option at £43m, while Athletic Club speedster Nico Williams is also available at that price. He has been monitored by Liverpool and Arsenal in real life, so that tells you everything about the talent he possesses.
Goncalo Inacio and Jeremie Frimpong have both been scouted by Manchester United recently and can be signed for £38.5m and £34.5m in this year’s Football Manager, slightly more than Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler (£33.5m).
Ricardo Horta is a reliable performer in Portugal and his £25.5m release clause is a snip for someone of his pedigree, while Oihan Sancet has previously been linked with Manchester City and can be signed for just £25.5m too.
Loic Bade is a cheap option in defence, and Granada starlet Bryan Zaragoza has a release clause of just £12m. He scored a brace versus Barcelona at the start of the 2023-24 season and has already been called up to the senior Spain national team.
Borussia Monchengladbach pair Nico Elvedi and Alassane Plea both have a release clause of £8.5m, while Valentin Barco (£8m) and Assane Diao (£2.9m) complete the best 15 players to sign with a release clause on Football Manager 2024.
