Liverpool prepare summer bid for €55m-rated Leeds wonderkid
Liverpool are eyeing up a move for Leeds United youngster Archie Gray, although they could face competition from Crystal Palace and Merseyside rivals Everton.
Gray, 17, has been a fixture in Leeds’ squad in the Championship this season, starting 12 of their 15 league games so far this term.
The versatile teenager started the season in midfield, but his last four league appearances have come at right-back. Furthermore, he played at right-back in two of England U19’s three fixtures during the October international break.

The 17-year-old’s emergence onto the senior stage has alerted Liverpool, who aren’t yet finished with their midfield overhaul.
Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo all joined during the summer, but both Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski and Genoa’s Morten Frendrup have been linked with a move to Anfield recently.
Now, according to The Daily Mail, Liverpool are pursuing a move for Leeds star Gray, who has been likened to Trent Alexander-Arnold due to his ability to play at both right-back and in midfield.

However, the teenager won’t come cheap, with reports suggesting Leeds will demand between £40-£50 million (€46-€57m) for his signature.

Gray’s current contract at Elland Road is due to expire in June 2025, meaning Leeds may be forced to sell him next summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
Gray made his professional debut on the opening day of Leeds’ Championship campaign, playing 90 minutes in their 2-2 draw against Cardiff City. He is yet to score or assist, but that is not his main responsibility.
Liverpool’s Andre pursuit
While Liverpool are now reportedly tracking Gray ahead of a potential move in 2024, their interest in Fluminense star Andre has cooled.
FootballTransfers understand that Liverpool have moved on to other targets despite their long-standing interest in Andre.
The Reds have been linked to signing the Brazilian international for an extended period but it’s our information that the club have informed his side that they are now looking at alternatives.
