Revealed: Man Utd set asking price for star Ten Hag wants out
Manchester United have set an asking price for Raphael Varane of between €20-30 million, according to journalist Florian Plettenburg.
Varane signed for United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2021 and instantly became an important player.
However, the Frenchman has since struggled with injuries and has recently fallen out of current manager Erik ten Hag's plans.
Even Harry Maguire, who was made available to other clubs in the summer, is now ahead of him in the pecking order.
Selling Varane in January would be mad. Last season he was our best CB. This season he's struggled, but so has Rashford, Bruno, Antony, Casemiro, Shaw, Martinez, Eriksen. The theme is clearly fatigue. Letting him go imo is about removing another big wage

Varane is wanted by Thomas Tuchel's Bayern Munich, who could make a move for the defender in January.
Plettenburg is reporting that it will have to be a sale though, as the Red Devils are not willing to let him leave on loan.
Varane to Saudi Arabia?
FootballTransfers understands that Varane would like to reunite with former Man Utd teammate Ronaldo, who was forced away from Old Trafford in a similarly inglorious manner by Ten Hag.
And Ronaldo's Al-Nassr have already made contact with Varane, according to our sources, ahead of a proposed move.
Previously, Al-Ittihad made an approach for the Frenchman in the summer, which he turned down.
Following his depleted role at Man Utd, though, his stance on a move to Saudi Arabia has changed.
