Man Utd captain Fernandes issues response after €100m Saudi Pro League links
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has downplayed rumours of a move away from Old Trafford following links with a €100 million move to the Saudi Pro League.
Fernandes, 29, has just under three years left on his current contract with the Red Devils and was named as the club’s new captain by Erik ten Hag during the summer.
The attacking midfielder has scored four goals and provided three assists in all competitions so far this season, but has been heavily criticised by numerous Man Utd legends, including Paul Scholes.

After the 4-3 Champions League loss to Copenhagen, the former Red Devils star told TNT Sports: “I think Bruno Fernandes needs to help [Rasmus] Hojlund a bit more. This is a young lad who’s come over from a different country, he’s not scored a Premier League goal.
“He’s so young and he needs help. I think Fernandes needs to get as close to him as he possibly can, because half the time he’s out, all over the pitch. Play your position and help the kid out and this lad will score goals."
“They’re just lacking a bit of leadership. Maybe if Casemiro was in there, things might have been different.

Furthermore, according to Fichajes, Fernandes has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, with a fee of €100m touted as a possibility.
However, Fernandes has now shut down any rumours of an exit.
What has been said?
The Man Utd captain was asked about his future at Old Trafford while on international duty and he told Sport TV Portugal, as per The Mirror: “"I'm focusing on the national team and United. I'm happy where I am.
“In the national team, we had some very good times, at Manchester United we didn't start the way we wanted.
“I don't look at rumours. I don't pay attention to them. Today, it's very easy to spread rumours in the press. I prefer to concentrate on my goals.”
