Man Utd: Sir Jim Ratcliffe could see signature of world’s best player
Manchester United has reportedly rekindled their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain's superstar, Kylian Mbappe, as Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe draws closer to joining the club.
Ratcliffe, considered Britain’s richest man, is set to acquire a 25 percent stake in the club and will oversee football operations, and this could pave the way for the pursuit of Mbappe to join the team, according to reports.
The forward declined to extend his contract with the reigning Ligue 1 champions and has reportedly agreed to forgo a €100 million loyalty bonus to facilitate his departure from Parc des Princes. Now FootballInsider report that, with Ratcliffe's imminent takeover, they are poised to compete for Mbappe's signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.

A lot will come down to which club can afford Mbappe’s high wages. For instance, the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea are financially equipped to make a substantial offer for Mbappe, who has also been rigorously linked to a move to Real Madrid. Los Blancos have been linked to Mbappe for a couple of years but a move has never come to fruition.
Part of the issue is the €20 million salary that Mbappe is likely to ask for, as well as the significant signing bonus.

Ratcliffe’s Man Utd move /h2>
Ratcliffe’s partial stake in Man Utd is thought to be the first step in taking total control of the Red Devils.
The Brit is hoping to eventually acquire a total stake in Man Utd, to bring an end to the reign of the Glazer family.
Ratcliffe is also owner of Nice, who are enjoying a brilliant start to their Ligue 1 campaign.
There is the hope that Ratcliffe will use his holistic approach at Man Utd and ensure that their recruitment is rejigged, following some disastrous windows in which they have overspent for players that have failed to live up to the mark.
