‘More goals than Rashford, Garnacho and Antony’ – Greenwood wanted back at Man Utd

Manchester United fans have called for Mason Greenwood to be recalled from his loan at Getafe after he scored a double against Tardienta in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
Getafe won 12-0 against amateur opponents in the knockout competition, despite rotating their squad heavily to include the likes of Ireland U19 international John Patrick in their starting XI.
Greenwood, though, was one of the stars of the show, with the England international bagging his second and third goals for his new club.

The Man Utd star is only at Getafe on loan following a long absence from the Man Utd first team, during which he was the subject of serious allegations that were investigated by the police but were subsequently dropped following the withdrawal of a key witness.
An internal review judged that Greenwood was unable to continue his career at Old Trafford, and the club worked to loan him to the LaLiga side.

Now, though, a sizeable number of Man Utd fans have called for the 22-year-old to be recalled amid a scoring drought at Old Trafford.
“I think it is the best time we bring MASON GREENWOOD back from Getafe,” one said on X. “He's just good tbh. Better than every forward in man united squad currently.
“Remember even after all these challenges and long period before getting back to football, he still has more goals than Rashford, Garnacho and Antony.
“Mason should be back.”
Another said: “I want Mason Greenwood back. Look after our starboy.”
A third lamented that Man Utd are stuck with Antony instead of the academy product. The account said: “Mason Greenwood scoring a brace and tearing up Laliga and somehow we end up with fraud. I blame Ten Hag for this.”
And there was one final reminder for Ten Hag of his side’s 3-0 loss to Newcastle, with an X user posting: “Goals in November: Mason Greenwood: 2, Manchester United: 0.”

Will Man Utd recall Greenwood?
It would take a remarkable U-turn from Man Utd if they were to recall Greenwood, whose return would only add to the negative PR that Ten Hag’s side are currently suffering.
These fans, then, are likely to be left disappointed.
