Revealed: Five Premier League clubs chasing Dortmund wonderkid Moukoko
Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko has attracted serious interest from the Premier League amid his struggles for game time this season.
The 19-year-old hasn’t started a single Bundesliga game so far this campaign, while he’s mustered just eight minutes of action across Dortmund’s four Champions League group stage games.
His only start in all competitions came during Dortmund’s 1-0 win over Hoffenheim in the DFB-Pokal on November 1, although he has scored twice in limited minutes across the Bundesliga and the cup this term.
Donyell Malen, Niclas Fullkrug, Sebastian Haller, and Karim Adeyemi are all ahead of Moukoko in the pecking order at the Signal Iduna Park, and a January move away is reportedly on the cards.
FC Koln are extremely interested in signing the teenager, as per reports, while there are numerous Premier League clubs monitoring his progress, according to TEAMtalk.
Liverpool and Newcastle United have been interested in Moukoko for over a year, and remain keen, reports Dean Jones, although a January move to either club is unlikely due to other priorities.
Chelsea have reportedly asked to be kept informed regarding any potential availability, but the Blues are also keen on Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen, with both players more proven at the highest level than Moukoko.
Furthermore, Crystal Palace and Fulham have both been touted as possible destinations for the Dortmund wonderkid, if a Premier League move is of interest. Real Madrid have previously scouted Moukoko and he is seen as a long-term option by Los Blancos, although the imminent arrival of Endrick could complicate any possible deal.
Koln want Moukoko
While a Premier League move is certainly a possibility, Koln is a closer-to-home option for Moukoko, with SportBild reporting: “1. FC Köln are looking for the saviour striker, and seem to have found the ideal candidate.
“He [Moukoko] is high on Cologne's list, and Dortmund are open to him leaving after a disappointing start to the season.
“He is currently only getting regular football with Germany's U21s, but wants to go to the European Championships next summer, with a club restart in Cologne.”
