Wonderkid eyed by Arsenal, Liverpool & Man Utd set for Ajax reunion in England

Ajax defender Devyne Rensch has appeared on the radar of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

The right-back has been closely monitored by Premier League clubs in recent months and it is therefore not unlikely that Ajax will receive an offer for the 20-year-old in January.

Liverpool's interest in Rensch is not new. Jürgen Klopp's club have been looking for a new right back for some time and were also interested in Rensch, who could meet his old teammate Ryan Gravenberch at Anfield, in the summer.

The Reds see Rensch as an ideal backup for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is currently the only real option in the right-back position as Joe Gomez is forced to deputise on the left. Rensch would also allow Klopp to unleash Alexander-Arnold in midfield more often.

Arsenal, Man Utd also keen

According to CBS Sports, Rensch, like fellow Ajax wonderkid Jorrel Hato, is also high on Mikel Arteta's list at Arsenal. The Spanish coach would love to add the Ajax players to his side but knows that it will be a difficult operation.

The Gunners are still missing Rensch's ex-teammate Jurriën Timber due to his ACL injury, while right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu also appears to be absent for the foreseeable future with a calf injury. The Japan international is also being courted by Bayern and Napoli and Arsenal are said to be open to allow him to leave on loan.

In addition to Arteta and Klopp, Erik ten Hag is also interested in facilitating Rensch's arrival. Now that the takeover issues are over, the Dutch coach hopes to be able to invest in the team in the coming transfer period and has his former player Rensch in mind to strengthen the right-back position.

Manchester United currently already have two right backs in Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but due to the enormous wave of injuries in the Manchester United squad, Ten Hag wants to kill two birds with one stone with the versatile Rensch.

It will be a difficult decision for Ajax over whether or not to sanction Rensch's departure. The Amsterdam team want to do everything they can to get a ticket for European football in the second half of the season and to get as far as possible in the Conference League.

To achieve this, keeping the squad together is an absolute must. On the other hand, Rensch only has a contract until 2025 and can therefore walk out the door for free in a year and a half.
