Liverpool fans are beginning to turn on Darwin Nunez after another poor showing.

The Uruguayan has not had an easy time of it since joining the Reds in a whopping €100 million deal. Though improved on last season, Nunez's obvious flaws and his proclivity for missing big chances are beginning to outweigh the positives that he offers.

The striker's inability to stay on side and take his chances was particularly glaring in Liverpool's tricky game with Crystal Palace. Nunez added another big chance missed to the 15 he had racked up previously in the campaign, which sees him sit second in that statistical department behind Erling Haaland. Unlike the Norwegian, however, Nunez does not score 50 goals to make up for his missed efforts.

It is unsurprising that the Reds are in the market for a new forward, having been linked with the likes of Lois Openda, Kenan Yildiz and Max Beier, and Nunez's underwhelming form is giving Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Jorg Schmadtke a big decision to make for January.

The 24-year-old has racked up a respectable seven goals and seven assists in 21 outings this term, but he has now gone six Premier League matches without finding the net and Liverpool fans are beginning to turn on him.
