'The worst manager I've ever seen': Man Utd fans turn on Ten Hag after Champions League exit
Manchester United crashed out of European football after their final Champions League group game against Bayern Munich, while Harry Maguire went off injured to compound Erik ten Hag’s misery.
Kingsley Coman’s second half winner left United bottom of their group and missing out on Europa League qualification as well as crashing out the Champions League, having won just one of their six games.
While United failing to progress from their relatively straight forward group will surprise some, the results across the campaign made qualification against Bayern almost impossible – and it was guaranteed by Copenhagen beating Galatasaray in the other game in Group A.
However, perhaps the biggest shock was the reaction to Maguire’s injury, with United fans genuinely disheartened at seeing their most in form defender hobble off in the first half clutching his groin.
Maguire’s turnaround this season has been stunning, having found himself virtually a laughing stock in the summer and a player who United fans may have been grateful to see spend time away from the pitch.
But United fans have since found Maguire to be undroppable and the pain of losing the 30-year-old added to the tension and pressure on Ten Hag, with some fans continuing to turn on the Dutchman.
’Do you want to be sacked?’ Fans fury at Ten Hag
Some supporters were critical of Ten Hag and his tactics, while others were more philosophical over the current state of United and the transition period they have been in.
Manchester United fans want a rebuild but aren’t patient enough to go through one. Instant gratification has ruined this generation.

Ten Hag is the worst manager I’ve ever seen at United. You lot cannot continue this dishonesty.
Do we even create good goal scoring opportunities???
This is Manchester United. I attach that name with shots and goals.
Not this nonsense pressing but really depressing bullshit— Moon ⚽️ (@MoonManUnited) December 12, 2023
Keep starting Mctominay mate and see what happens, do you want to be sacked? Show some fucking balls I hate that United managers get overwhelmed and ditch their principles.

However, a lot of fans could not hide their pain at seeing Maguire go off injured, particularly ahead of United’s next game against Liverpool.
Never thought I'd be devastated over a Maguire injury
