Ten Hag’s 'no regrets' comment enrages Man Utd fans following loss

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has angered supporters in his post-match press conference following the club's 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

The Red Devils were defeated 2-1 by the Midlands club, with Morgan Gibbs-White scoring the winning goal late in the second half.

The game wasn't the worst display from Man Utd this season but it does mark their 21st loss of this year.

One of the biggest issues was the inclusion of Scott McTominay in the second half, who was arguably at fault for the second goal, with youngster Kobbie Mainoo exiting the pitch in the 46th minute.

There was a suggestion that Mainoo had picked up a knock but Ten Hag later revealed that his removal from the field was for tactical reasons and he has 'no regrets' about taking him off.

“I think the first goal, when you analyse it good, it went down the sides. Nothing to do with the central midfielder there.

“The second goal was a counter-attack, where I think it was a miscommunication, we had enough players.

“The second part of it [Gibbs-White’s finish], in the first half, there were already some moments where Gibbs-White ran away, it was good play, but we should have tracked that.”

But fans have been pulling their hair out over this statement, with some even saying he should be sacked.

That’s a pretty confident bad choice right there. The change in form and flow of the squad was completely altered by Mainoo coming off. Dubious decision in a season of dubious decisions. Hope we can sell McTominay so we can be spared his disjoined play.
