Van de Beek takes important step in sealing Man Utd exit as official announcement scheduled
Donny van de Beek continues to edge closer to his Manchester United departure, with a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt slated for the January transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news that Van de Beek is close to signing for the Bundesliga club last week, and this deal is coming ever closer to fruition.
Sky Deutschland reports that there are only details to be thrashed out between the clubs, with Van de Beek having completed the hurdle of his medical.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Florian Plettenberg confirmed: “Been told that his medical is done! There were no problems.
“A few small details between Frankfurt and Man Utd still need to be clarified.
“The official announcement is scheduled for this week.”
Van de Beek loan terms
It is expected that Van de Beek will move to Frankfurt on an initial six-month loan that will include an option for the Bundesliga side to purchase him on a permanent basis in the summer.
Man Utd will receive a loan fee for the player and are expected to put the purchase clause around the €10 million mark – lower than the €15m figure that was initially suggested when the deal was first mooted.
Such a small fee for Van de Beek continues the trend of the Old Trafford club simply looking to offload stars that they have no interest in retaining at bargain prices.
Jadon Sancho is another who could leave on this type of deal, with the latest reports even indicating that Man Utd could tear up the former Borussia Dortmund star’s contract entirely if no transfer can be found for him.
While Sancho has suffered at Man Utd due to a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, Van de Beek has been beset by injury problems and a lack of form, restricting him to just two Premier League minutes this season.
