Arsenal's pursuit of Alexander-Arnold regen in danger
Bayern Munich are interested in Arsenal target Sacha Boey, according to a report.
The German giants are in the process of reshaping their defence. Eric Dier has already been signed from Tottenham for the centre-back position and Bayern's next priority is to add a right-back.
The Bavarians are currently in negotiations with PSG over former Leipzig man Nordi Mukiele. Should they fail to land the Frenchman, however, they have a Plan B that will set them on a collision course with Arsenal.
According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have shortlisted Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey. At the moment, while talks with PSG over Mukiele remain ongoing, it is not a 'hot topic' yet, but the journalist asserts that he could quickly become a very real target for Thomas Tuchel and company.
Plettenberg also revealed that Boey won't come cheap, though he did not disclose a specific transfer fee.
Arsenal want Boey too
Spanish outlet AS recently claimed that Arsenal have reignited their interest in Boey, whose price tag was put at €25 million in the report. The Gunners were already linked with the Frenchman in the summer and are certainly on his tail again in 2024.
As FootballTransfers previously revealed, Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen the right-back position. To do this, he has targeted Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen, but the Dutchman will only be available in the summer and his ultra-attacking style has raised questions about his defensive capabilities.
Boey would represent a potentially more attainable alternative for January depending on the fee demanded by Galatasaray. Intriguingly, Boey profiles similarly to Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to data experts SciSports, making him a particularly interesting option.
The Spanish outlet also spoke of interest in Boey from PSG, but Fabrizio Romano has already dismissed this claim.
