Romano expects major Chelsea transfer movement 'in the next days'

Fabrizio Romano expects major transfer movement regarding Armando Broja in the coming days.

The Chelsea striker has been put on the transfer list despite the club's dearth of centre-forward options, becoming the third academy graduate to be put up for sale this window in the process. The Albanian has failed to live up to the hype since returning from his ACL injury late last year.

Chelsea have reportedly slapped a hefty price tag on his head, with various reports claiming that the Blues are demanding €35 million, while others speak of a fee in the region of €50m-€60m. It has been claimed that the London giants used the €74m Man Utd paid for 20-year-old Rasmus Hojlund in the summer as a benchmark for their asking price.

Broja has only notched three goals so far for Chelsea's senior team, which makes their demands quite exorbitant and it seems unlikely that any club would be willing to shell out that much on the 22-year-old. Nevertheless, there is concrete interest in his services.

What did Romano say?

Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, there could be major movement on the Broja front in the coming days as West Ham and Wolves may be tempted into launching a bid, though Chelsea fans who expect their club to make a fortune from his exit will likely end up disappointed.

“I think this is a possibility – it’s going to be a busy week for Armando Broja. He’s almost never playing and Mauricio Pochettino recently said he needs to be regularly playing," Romano told CaughtOffside.

"It makes no sense to continue like this. There is historical interest from West Ham, and Wolves could be another possibility. There could be movement in the next days.”

Romano does not expect any club to actually match the Blues' valuation, however. Instead, the transfer expert told GIVEMESPORT that Broja could leave the club on loan.
