Chelsea told to give up pursuit of €45m striker target
Chelsea have been told to give up their pursuit of Girona striker Artem Dovbyk.
The Ukraine international has scored 11 goals in 15 La Liga start this season, helping Girona to second place at the halfway mark.
For this reason, Chelsea are said to be interested in bringing him to Stamford Bridge to give competition to Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja.
However, Girona chairman Pere Guadriola, brother to Manchester City manager Pep, has revealed that The Blues should look elsewhere.
"We don't have offers for anyone. Not from Barca for Aleix [Garcia], nor from Chelsea for Dovbyk," he told Relevo. "And we have no intention of selling to anyone either.
"The thing is that journalists really like the transfer market. The truth is that we have a good squad. Obviously, the normal thing is that people notice because we are doing things well."
Dovbyk to Chelsea?
The Sun previously reported that the Girona star could be available for €45 million.
Standing at 6ft 2in, his physicality is said to have impressed Mauricio Pochettino, who is keen to add more physicality to his team.
And, one thing that is believed to be in Chelsea's favour is that the striker not only has the same agent as Mykhailo Mudryk, but the two are good friends.
