Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri will leave the club to join Granada on loan.

And, according to Fabrizio Romano, Pellistri could complete his move within the next 24 hours.

Pellistri was put up for sale by Erik ten Hag in the January transfer window, and there has been interest from the likes of Villarreal, LA Galaxy and PSV.

However, it is Granada who have moved to complete a deal for the Uruguayan.

And Romano says that a loan move could be completed imminently.

What did Romano say?

“Granada are closing in on Facu Pellistri loan deal from Manchester United,” Romano tweeted.

“The agreement is getting closer as talks are moving fast. (There will be) more contacts today to get it done between all parties.

“Green light from the player revealed 10 days ago. Now, almost there.”

Manchester United will contribute towards Pellistri’s salary.

Pellistri joined Man Utd from Penarol in 2020 for a fee of £9 million.

There were big hopes in the 22-year-old when he arrived at Old Trafford, but in just over three years he has failed to develop.

He has made just 24 appearances at the club on the right wing, scoring no goals.

Pellistri was loaned out to Alaves in both the 2020-21 and 2012-22 seasons where he also failed to score a goal.

He has been capped 18 times for Uruguay, scoring no goals.

The lack of goals by Pellistri has seen him compared to much-criticised fellow right winger Antony.

Antony has no goals and no assists for Man Utd this season in 22 appearances.

Man Utd have been very active this window in offloading players. They have also moved on Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund on loan, Donny van de Beek to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, and Hannibal, Joe Hugill and Alvaro Fernandez also being sent away on loan.
