EXCLUSIVE: Fulham strike again for Andre after astonishing U-turn

Fulham have made a sensational return to Andre after seemingly cutting all ties to the Fluminense midfielder earlier this month, FootballTransfers can exclusively reveal.

Though the club indicated a shift in focus, we are told that the Cottagers have recently reopened discussions with the 22-year-old.

Initially, Fulham communicated to both Andre and his current club, Fluminense, that they were exploring other options in the transfer market, even though progress had been made between them and the Brazil international.

Sources close to the matter have disclosed that Fulham's second approach to Andre has yielded positive talks, keeping alive the prospect of a move in the ongoing January transfer window.

Our sources affirm that discussions between the player and the club have progressed well, and personal terms are not expected to be a problem. It's thought that the ball is now in Fulham's court to make a concrete offer.

FootballTransfers previously reported in January that Andre engaged in discussions with Fulham manager Marco Silva, and was encouraged by the project on offer.. Alistair Mackintosh, the club's CEO, also played a role in the negotiations, holding talks with Fluminense during his visit to Brazil following the 2023 Copa Libertadores final.

Manchester United have also been linked with Andre but their interest appears to have diminished following Sir Jim Ratcliffe's takeover.

While Albert Gudmundsson of Genoa is a highly regarded option, the club may look to wait until the summer transfer window. Gudmundsson, aged 26, boasts an impressive record of 10 goals in 19 matches across all competitions this season and offers versatility across the frontline.
