Liverpool legend 'offered to clubs' just six months after transfer
Liverpool legend Roberto Firmino has been 'offered to several clubs' just six months after arriving at Al-Ahli.
The Brazilian forward said an emotional farewell to Liverpool in the summer after the expiration of his contract, bringing down the curtain on an immensely successful time at Anfield. Firmino became one of the myriad big-name stars to head to the Saudi Pro League, signing for fallen giants Al-Ahli who had just been promoted back to the top flight.
Despite a bright start that saw him net a hattrick on his debut, the 32-year-old's time at Al-Ahli has been underwhelming, to say the least. In fact, he hasn't scored a single goal since opening day.
Highly-rated German head coach Matthias Jaissle has taken no prisoners and has dropped him from the side, with the Brazilian only featuring as a substitute in his last seven games despite being the club captain. Now, it is claimed that the forward has been offered to other clubs in a bid to offload him.
Firmino to leave already?
Rumours that Firmino could already depart Al-Ahli have been abounding for a while and Sky Sports now asserts that the Liverpool legend 'has been offered to several clubs this month.'
Despite signing a three-year deal, Firmino could already be on the way out. In recent times, he has been linked with other Saudi clubs but also a spectacular return to Europe and even the Premier League.
Turkish clubs are said to be interested in the Brazilian and, more intriguingly, so are promoted outfit Sheffield United. The Blades are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and need any help they can get.
Firmino, with his experience and top-level pedigree, could be a useful asset to have despite his horrendous goal drought. With the Saudi league currently on winter break, Firmino could leave Al-Ahli with just three goals and three assists to his name across 19 games.
