The Brazilian was acquired by Manchester United from Ajax for €95 million in the summer of 2022 but has not been able to convince at all in England and, this season, he has not yet managed to score a goal or notch an assist in 22 matches.

Recent reports have claimed that Man Utd have offered the attacker to Saudi Arabia for around €58 million, while the likes of West Ham and Juventus are said to be interested in the Brazilian.

However, according to the player's agent Junior Pedroso, this couldn't be further from the truth. "Manchester United have not yet expressed any interest in selling him in January or the summer," Pedroso told United in Focus.

Antony aware he needs to improve

However, the agent acknowledged that Antony has massively underperformed this term. The winger, Pedroso says, is aware of the criticism of his lack of production and is determined to improve his productivity.

“Antony is only focused on the next four months of the season so he can improve his performance. He knows very well that he has to score, there is no point in just playing good games, he has to score goals and provide assists."

"He is very clear about that. He will come back different and show much more than he has done so far this season,” asserts Pedroso, citing a change in lifestyle behind the scenes that will lead to improved performances.

"He has a very serious recovery routine at home. He has equipped his home with all kinds of equipment that allows him to achieve faster and better muscle recovery. He has improved his diet, based on the advice of a nutritionist. He eats much better, he sleeps better, he sleeps earlier," said the agent.

According to Pedroso, the 23-year-old winger has received a lot of support from manager Erik ten Hag, with whom he also worked at Ajax. "Erik defended him and stated that Antony has undergone a major trauma."

This refers to the accusations of his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin, who claims that she was abused by the attacker. “He suffered a lot from everything that happened, but it was important for his maturity and that helped him in this process.”
