Dwight Yorke slams Man Utd’s move for Morgan Gibbs-White
Dwight Yorke has hit out at Manchester United’s rumoured interest in Morgan Gibbs-White, saying that the Nottingham Forest midfielder is not of the level required
United are enduring a disastrous season, well off the pace in the Premier League, and out of both Europe and the League Cup.
United are set to have a very busy transfer market in 2024 - with a host of new players expected to be brought in, especially in the summer.
This will involve bringing in many younger talents, and one of the names heavily linked is Nottingham Forest midfielder Gibbs-White.
But former Man Utd striker Yorke believes that the 23-year-old is not good enough for United.
What did Dwight Yorke say?
“I don't really rate Morgan Gibbs-White. I think he's ok, but he's not what United need,” Yorke told Footy Accumulators.
“New transfers aren't all about bringing in squad players - you need to bring in those who improve your team and help bring it to where it wants to be. United have those issues at the moment, and that's where the difficulties lie.
“The only way United can make a difference is going out and buying the best players available. There are too many average players at the club! They're supposed to be a bunch of world-class players, yet they aren't.
“United have a lot of international players, but a lot of them don't start for their national teams!”
Gibbs-White scored the winner for for Nottingham Forest earlier the season against Man Utd in a 2-1 win.
He joined his current side from Wolves in 2022. He has scored eight goals in 60 games for the club.
