Man Utd in talks with Dutch giants over talented attacker - Romano
Erik ten Hag can temporarily offload Facundo Pellistri at PSV.
According to journalist Simon Jones of the Daily Mail and transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester United attacker is being heavily courted by the Eindhoven team, Villarreal, Los Angeles Galaxy and Flamengo.
Pellistri hardly played at Old Trafford, where he is still under contract until 2025, during the first half of the season. The 22-year-old was linked with a loan move to FC Twente last summer, but this deal fell through and the Uruguayan international stayed with the Red Devils.
Game time, however, has been in short supply for the youngster, who seemingly plays more for his country than his club. At United, the Uruguayan played 363 minutes during the first half of the season, spread over 13 matches, and notched just one assist. Pellistri did not get off the bench in the last two games.
Pellistri on the exit ramp
A loan deal could reportedly offer a solution for Pellistri. It remains to be seen to what extent a temporary move to Eindhoven is realistic. Head coach Peter Bosz recently indicated that he does not want any new players.
Moreover, the wide attacking positions at PSV are already well stocked with summer acquisitions Hirving Lozano and Noa Lang, breakout star Johan Bakayoko and Yorbe Vertessen. However, according to Romano, talks between PSV and Manchester United have already started.
The LA Galaxy, meanwhile, are trying to engineer a permanent move for the winger. In addition to the possible exit of Pellistri, Manchester United are also said to be closing in on the temporary departure of Hannibal Mejbri.
The 20-year-old midfielder also did not feature much in Ten Hag's plans in the first half of the season and is close to a move to Sevilla, with Everton now entering the picture too. Hannibal recently had his one-year contract extension triggered.
