Man Utd consider eleventh-hour wonderkid transfer

Manchester United could cash in on Isak Hansen-Aroen before the January window closes, according to a report.

The Norwegian talent is fed up with his lack of first-team minutes at Old Trafford and is refusing to put pen to paper on a new contract, which means that he will be free to depart Man Utd in the summer.

The Red Devils have been trying everything in their power to get the 19-year-old to commit his future to the club, but to no avail so far as the youngster is not convinced that remaining with the club is the best choice for his career given that he has thus far not been considered by Erik ten Hag despite regularly training with the senior side.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Hansen-Aroen has not definitively closed the door to an Old Trafford stay but the current offer on the table is simply not good enough. His refusal to extend has now led the Man Utd hierarchy to consider a late January sale.

An eleventh-hour move?

Even if the youngster were to leave for nothing in the summer, Man Utd would be entitled to a compensation fee from his next club, but the above-mentioned report asserts that they could try to get a bigger figure in the final hours of the transfer window.

The problem is that time is running out. The transfer windows in Italy, France and Spain close on Wednesday and those in England and Germany on Thursday, meaning that it will be a race against time for any club to strike a deal for the Norwegian.

Hansen-Aroen certainly has no shortage of suitors, with the likes of Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Ajax all credited with an interest in him. More recently, Werder Bremen have emerged as a potential option and they, along with Ajax, certainly seem the most likely to attempt a late move given that they still have more time to negotiate.
