Borussia Dortmund fans are confident that Jadon Sancho can revive his career in the Bundesliga.

In exile since September, Sancho is finally on the verge of leaving Manchester United. Talks between his former club Borussia Dortmund and the Red Devils over a loan are accelerating and both parties are keen to strike a deal as soon as possible.

Sancho is desperate to return to BVB and to end - albeit only temporarily - an unhappy chapter of his career. The 23-year-old has struggled to live up to his €85 million price tag since arriving at Old Trafford and has not played since the start of the season due to publically calling manager Erik ten Hag a liar.

In England, the reaction to the news that Sancho is close to Dortmund has been mixed. Some believe that he had his chance at United and squandered it and that he now must face the consequences of his actions, while others are sad to see a talented and still young player depart. But what do Dortmund fans think about Sancho's impending return?

BVB fans bullish about Sancho

Most Black and Yellow fans have nothing but positive memories of Sancho and this has informed their reaction to this transfer news. The majority of Dortmund fans are happy for Sancho to return, especially as there is little risk involved in the deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the financial package will be in the region of €3.5 million. This was too much for Juventus, but Dortmund are willing to pay it. One supporter on a fan forum pointed out that this is a bargain for a player of his calibre in this day and age. "He is a friend of ours who is coming back and, of course, we will welcome him back with open arms," they wrote.

However, there were also critical voices. Another fan voiced concerns about the lack of interest in his services, especially from England. "His reputation in the UK must be atrocious," they hypothesised.

The reaction from BVB fans and the club hierarchy has been accurately summed up by Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg: "Dortmund are aware that he's not been part of the team training and hasn't featured in matches over the past four months. It's a risk but they have had talks with the player, and he is injury-free, is fit and is ready to play."

"Dortmund are convinced that he can have an immediate impact," he continued. "The fans are celebrating this news and the possibility of this big return, one of the biggest returns of the last five or six years. Others see it very critically."
