The 30 richest football clubs in the world
Real Madrid are the richest club in world football ahead of the likes of Manchester City and PSG.
The Deloitte Money League ranks the world's football clubs by the revenue they generate on an annual basis and their latest report sees Real Madrid topping the charts with an eye-watering income of €831.4 million for the 2022/23 season.
This puts them ahead of Manchester City despite their historic treble that saw them claim the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. City are, by quite some distance, the richest Premier League club with a turnover of €825.9m.
Incredibly, this means that City generated €80m more than local rivals Man Utd, who are generally considered to be one of if not the biggest footballing brands in the world. United's revenue of €745.8m has them in fifth behind PSG (€801.8m) and cash-strapped Barcelona (€800.1m).
Madrid back on top
Real Madrid are top of the Deloitte Money League for the first time since 2017/18 after strong retail performance saw their revenues leap by €118m last season, despite a relatively disappointing on-field performance.
The Spaniards were eclipsed in LaLiga by Barcelona and were well beaten in the Champions League semi-final by Man City, yet record commercial sales of €403m have driven them to first place.
Pep Guardiola’s side, meanwhile, place second after a record year on all fronts. Their commercial income grew to nearly €400m while they recouped €344m in broadcasting rights.
Tottenham beat Chelsea and Arsenal
Interestingly, Tottenham are the richest club in London, with their income of €631.5m beating out Chelsea's €589.4m and Arsenal's €532.6m. Spurs sit in eighth, behind Bayern Munich (€744m) and Liverpool (€682.9m).
The first Italian club to make the list are Juventus, sitting 11th with a turnover of €432.4m. Eintracht Frankfurt's inclusion at 16th is quite surprising, as they sit ahead of Newcastle United, West Ham and Serie A champions Napoli.
