Sancho and Lukaku among biggest LOSERS as Man Utd dominate unwanted ranking
Manchester United players dominate the ranking of players who have lost most transfer value over the course of the past two years.
The Red Devils have four players in the top 10 as well as six in the leading 12 – and that does not include the two who have turned out for the Old Trafford club in the past.
Based on FootballTransfers’ unique algorithm, which calculates values using hundreds of in-game data points, Romelu Lukaku has lost more value than any other player in the world since January 2022.
Currently on loan at Roma from Chelsea, Lukaku was worth €102.6 million two years ago. That figure has dropped to €36.4m now. The Belgian’s decline is even more precipitous given that his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) peaked at €141m in January 2020.
Lukaku is, of course, a former Man Utd player, but following him come a trio of stars currently on the books of the Old Trafford side.
Mason Greenwood leads the way in this regard, with the forward, who is on loan at Getafe, having missed a great deal of football over this period due to a police investigation that was ultimately dropped. Man Utd’s own internal examination into his private life deemed that he was not fit to play for the club.

Jadon Sancho predictably comes in third after a difficult 18 months, the last six of which have seen him frozen out of action due to a disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag.
Rounding out this group of players is Casemiro, who finds age catching up with him as his form has dipped lately.
Harry Maguire comes in seventh, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof narrowly miss the top 10. Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial place 14th and 15th respectively.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Memphis Depay is the other player to have played for Man Utd.
Real Madrid are the only other team to have more than one representative in this group of fallers, with David Alaba and Thibaut Courtois present in part because they are both pushing the veteran stage of their careers.
Jack Grealish of Manchester City and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min round out the top 10.
