The 10 biggest spenders of the January transfer window
Stade Rennais have currently spent the most amount of money of any club during the 2025 January transfer window.
The Ligue 1 club have improved their midfield core with the addition of Seko Fofana (€20 million) from Al-Nassr, while Brice Samba (€14m) has arrived from RC Lens as their new first-choice goalkeeper.
Palmeiras have racked up the second-highest total of money spent in January, with the Brazilian giants signing Atletico Mineiro winger Paulinho for €18m and Orlando City winger Facundo Torres for €11.5m.

Meanwhile, Serie A new boys Como sit in third place. Cesc Fabregas’ side have spent €29m on the additions of Maxence Caqueret (Lyon), Assane Diao (Real Betis) and Jean Butez (Royal Antwerp).
Aston Villa have the fourth-largest expenditure during the January transfer window, thanks to the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen for €25m.
Ipswich Town are fifth, after spending €23.7m on Jaden Philogene, and Tottenham Hotspur sit in sixth place. Ange Postecoglou’s side have added Antonin Kinsky and Min-hyeok Yang for a combined €20.5m.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have spent €20m on Stade Reims defender Emmanuel Agbadou, which is enough to see them included in seventh, while FC Cincinnati are eighth. The MLS outfit have spent €17.8m on Kevin Denkey, Luca Orellano and Tah Anunga (free transfer).
Juventus and San Diego (both €13.8m) complete the top 10. The former have signed Vitoria Guimaraes defender Alberto Costa, while the latter have signed eight new players for a transfer fee, including Hirving Lozano.
