Chelsea defender Malang Sarr is nearing a move to Ligue 1 club Le Havre after four seasons at Stamford Bridge, according to Foot Mercato.

Sarr signed for the Blues on a free transfer from Nice, where he earned the reputation as one of France’s most exciting prospects.

He was immediately sent on loan to Porto for the entirety of the 2020-21 season and returned to the west London club for the following campaign.

Sarr played a small part under Thomas Tuchel but he failed to nail down a place in the starting lineup.

His last appearance came as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Watford in May 2022 and he spent last season on loan at Monaco.

He was never in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans going into the current campaign and the Argentine boss looked confused when asked about the defender in preseason.

Now, at the age of 25, he will return to France, where he will be looking to get his career back on track.

Chelsea loan Broja to Fulham

Chelsea have agreed to send Armando Broja on loan to Fulham for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

The Blues initially wanted to sell Broja for a fee in the region of £50 million, though no team came close to matching their asking price.

The striker then became available for £35m, and they still failed to receive any offers that met their valuation.

Eventually, it was accepted that he would leave on loan, with Wolves and AC Milan among the teams interested in his services.

However, Chelsea’s west London rivals Fulham have won the race for his signature, and they will pay a loan fee of up to £4m, according to multiple reports.
