Chelsea eyeing up Arsenal star to replace £25m summer transfer flop
Chelsea are interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as a replacement for Robert Sanchez, according to HITC.
The Blues signed Sanchez from Brighton for £25 million last summer, and he has not been impressive.
The 26-year-old often looked shaky in his 16 Premier League appearances before he suffered a knee injury in December.
In his absence, Djordje Petrovic has had the opportunity to prove that he deserves to start for the west London club going forward.
And, despite conceding 16 goals in 10 league games, the Serbian has looked better than his Spanish teammate.
Even though Sanchez is fully fit again, it appears that he will remain in between the sticks for the remainder of the season.
However, the reports states that Chelsea are still unsure whether Petrovic has what it takes to be the club's number one long term.
Ramsdale to Chelsea?
Ramsdale is reportedly willing to leave Arsenal in the next transfer window.
The England international was The Gunners' starting goalkeeper for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns, but he has since been replaced.

Mikel Arteta decided to sign David Raya from Brentford ahead of the current campaign and he has taken Ramsdale's place in the side.
The former Bournemouth man is said to be unhappy with the situation and would be prepared to move on at the earliest opportunity.
Arsenal would likely command a transfer fee in the region of the £30 million they paid Sheffield United for his services, although they may want more from their London rivals.
