Kvaratskhelia to follow Osimhen? Agent reveals 'there are offers'
The agent of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has revealed that there is significant transfer interest in his client.
Napoli are in the midst of a crisis. Already on their third coach of the season and miles off the pace in Serie A, the defending champions are in turmoil and potentially face a summer of even greater upheaval.
Victor Osimhen is expected to depart the club, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG hoping to secure the Nigerian sharpshooter's signature. Osimhen reportedly has a €130 million release clause, so Napoli will be flush with cash, but his exit will still be hard to swallow.
However, Osimhen likely won't be the only major departure. Midfield maestro Piort Zielinski looks set to join Inter on a free transfer and star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could also depart. Nicknamed 'Kvaradona' due to his outstanding performances last term, the Georgian has struggled to recapture his form this season.
New Napoli boss Francesco Calzona recently said of his struggles: “As far as my management is concerned, he does everything he can to do what I ask of him. Maybe he concentrates so much that he loses his imagination. I think he will give us a hand soon, I’m happy with his availability and this does me good to hope."
Kvaratskhelia to leave?
Transfer speculation surrounding the 23-year-old has been rampant since last summer. Arsenal and Barcelona have been said to be keen on him for some time, while PSG have now reportedly joined the list of suitors as well.
His agent Mamuka Jugeli has done little to defuse the situation. On the contrary, his latest comments will only fuel the rumours surrounding his client. Speaking to Russian outlet Championat, Mamuka was bluntly asked about Kvaratskhelia's links with Barcelona and PSG.
"Barcelona and PSG? Of course, there are offers for Khvicha from top clubs. Look at him! How can there be no proposals? In May, things will become clearer.” Kvaratskhelia is still under contract at Napoli until 2027 and currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €51m.
